In my essay I intend to configure a link between the clothes show and its models and feminism.
I want to;
Look at how models are looked at now and in the past.
Try to find a link between different designers and how they dress their models through use of makeup and hair styles.
Research different events throughout the years to help strongly construct my link i.e. the mini skirt, the male gaze theory, women in trousers.
Look at how fashion runways shows are conducted, find similarities/differences between these and the clothes show (do higher end designers shows differ from middle and lower end).
Read blogs on the clothes show, find different opinions on the events.
Research into how women are viewed in different cultures by men, society. (try and find a link between how women are viewed and how models are viewed)
Look at differences between male and female models.
Try and find a solid link between feminism and the modelling industry, I want to find others who have investigated this to use for quotes and to strengthen my theory.
My essay will be based around the exhibition Clothes Show live I will be visiting the show first hand to get primary research for my essay. My secondary research will consist of books, websites, Youtube clips, online blogs and magazines.
